Concept: Drift & Dune is a slow-fashion, beach-to-brunch
IDENTITY & STRATEGY
Drift & Dune is a conceptual coastal lifestyle brand created to explore how strategy shapes visual identity. Designed as a slow-fashion label rooted in a small beach town, the brand reflects sun-washed textures, natural fibers, and an effortless approach to dressing.
The project began with defining a clear positioning: elevated yet accessible, timeless yet relaxed. From there, I developed a brand strategy built around three core pillars — intentional design, coastal authenticity, and understated confidence. These foundations informed every creative decision, from the muted sand-to-ocean colour palette, to the soft typography and minimal wave-inspired mark.
The visual identity draws on natural light, organic textures, and subtle movement to evoke a sense of calm refinement. Photography direction, tone of voice, packaging concepts, and digital touchpoints were all designed to work cohesively, creating a brand experience that feels considered and cohesive across every platform.
This project demonstrates my process of translating strategic thinking into a tangible, emotionally resonant brand identity.
Overview
Kairo Studio was able to craft a visual identity that bridges the gap between the modern audience and quality, timeless pieces. The core objective was to create a brand that speaks through clarity and sophisticated strategy. Audiences in the modern world are drawn to fast-fashion and short-lived trends. The goal of Drift & Dune's branding was to appeal to the same audience with a modern and aesthetic online presence, while marketing sustainably made, long-lasting and quality pieces.
Process & Insights
Strategic Foundation
Drift & Dune was developed as a concept project to explore how a strong strategic foundation shapes a cohesive brand identity. Before any visual direction was created, I defined the brand’s positioning within the elevated coastal lifestyle space, identifying a design-conscious audience seeking timeless, intentional pieces over trend-driven fashion. These principles informed every decision, and the result is a brand identity built not just on aesthetics, but on clarity of purpose and emotional resonance.
Results & Scalability
The final outcome is a cohesive, strategically grounded brand identity that translates seamlessly across digital, print, and environmental touchpoints. Through this project, I strengthened my understanding of how clear positioning informs confident design decisions. Establishing defined brand pillars early in the process allowed for consistency in visual language, tone, and application. The system was intentionally built with scalability in mind, enabling future expansion into seasonal collections, retail environments, collaborations, and content campaigns while maintaining a clear and recognisable identity.
